LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS

LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

A learning environment is a diverse platform where users engage and interact to learn new skills (Raccoon, 2019).

Marca ( 2010), in one of her books wrote  “We live in exciting times and the sphere of education is not exempt from this excitement”. Effective learning environment is the one that encourages student-centred, collaborative teaching methods, recognising a range of learning styles and having an open plan approach to space.

MAKERSPACES

A makerspace is a physical location where people gather to co-create, share resources and knowledge, work on projects, network, and build (Roslund and Rodgers, 2013).
Space in which we learn shapes the way our senses engage in visual and verbal interactions. From the positioning of the furniture to the lighting through to the opportunities to engage, collaborate, create and inspire; it shows that teaching and learning spaces are more than the number of chairs and tables in a room.
